The School
Re^Human is dedicated to giving people from all sectors the tools and knowledge they need to heal our planet. We firmly believe that humanity's deepest and truest purpose is to be a keystone species, or a species upon which entire ecosystems depend. Indigenous civilizations around the world and throughout time have proven that we can catalyze biodiversity with our very presence, when guided by the proper values and strategies. Re^Human is an Indigenous suite of online courses designed to bring these skills and worldviews to the world, as responsibly and effectively as we can. We are excited to join with you and many guest speakers so that—together—we become a force of nature.

Our Founder
Dr. Lyla June Johnston
Dr. Lyla June Johnston (Diné/Tsétsêhéstâhese) specializes in Indigenous Regenerative Ecosystem Design. Through the survey and study of hundreds of case studies of successful Indigenous food systems, she has developed an understanding of some of the physical and moral attributes of these land management strategies.
She has traveled nationally and internationally lecturing on how humanity can learn and apply these lessons today. Dr. Johnston graduated from Stanford University with honors with a degree in environmental anthropology. She also holds a masters degree in Indigenous Teaching Methods from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Johnston also integrates the traditional teachings she grew up with to inform her perspectives and solutions. Her PhD research focused on the ways in which pre-colonial Indigenous Nations shaped large regions of Turtle Island (aka the Americas) to produce abundant food systems for humans and non-humans. She teaches alongside a beautiful network of guest speakers, elders, practitioners, and knowledge keepers.
